Research projects
The utilisation of scientific findings is a tradition at itCampus. The company has its roots in science and research, and it was founded in 1999 as a spin-off by Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and University of Leipzig.
The close contact with students, postgraduate students and scientists of different disciplines continues to be a trademark of itCampus' European focus.
Supporting Young Academics
As a partner of famous universities itCampus supervises students writing bachelor, diploma, master theses and dissertations. In addition, the company offers career opportunities for the best graduates. itCampus currently employs more than 100 business data processing specialists and computer scientists, as well as business economists, engineers and mathematicians in its six office locations.
In cooperation with scientific institutions, the company also regularly implements challenging research projects for small teams and for big consortiums. In choosing such projects, the software and systems supplier proves its innovative drive and capabilities as well as its sense of marketable products.
Research Projects Turned Into Successful Products
ELSBETH is a good example for the speed with which a scientific idea can be turned into an economically successful product. Launched in 2003 as a research project at itCampus, ELSBETH has become one of the most successful communication solutions in the call center industry.
Another success story which began as a research project was servingo, the service portal for the 2006 FIFA World Cup™. During World Cup, the multilingual portal served visitors to the twelve host cities with location-related key information that was made accessible on their mobile phones, smartphones, PDAs, laptop computers and stationary computers at home. The consortium developing the service also included ten other partners from industry and science, including the Fraunhofer Institutes IGD and IML as well as the telecommunications company T-Systems GmbH.
